Last week Sheree from Shire Mobile Hair Styling and I took a road trip up to the beautiful Hunter Valley for Sarah’s Wedding.

What an exciting day to be married on 11/11/11. Sarah choose to wear a powder blue wedding dress this along with the bridesmaid dresses were made by local designer Laura Maidment, they were absolutely stunning.

The Sebel Kirkton Park Hunter Valley was a great venue overlooking the wine country.

Congratulations Sarah, we hope you have a wonderful time on your honeymoon in Mexico.

2011 ABIA Awards

In December Minx Makeup & Spray Tanning was very lucky to be announced as a finalist in the 15th Annual Australian Bridal Industry Awards (ABIA).

The awards night was held at Dockside Darling Harbour for all nominated businesses and covered all aspects of the bridal industry.

I want to send a huge thank you to all my 2011 brides who took the time to vote on our services. We scored a fantastic result of 96.97% out of 100 which was a wonderful rating and we also enjoyed a great night of good food, drinks & dancing!

This year we are aiming higher & hoping to deliver even better results for our brides than last year.

Karen’s Wedding

Karen’s wedding morning was so much fun! A great morning with her lovely bridesmaids who were actually watching the movie “Bridesmaids” we all had a good giggle & laugh.

Makeup was simple yet elegant, and hair was hair was styled by Sheree from Shire Mobile Hair Styling . A great team effort again Shez.

Sarah & Craig’s Wedding

It was such a pleasure to do the makeup for Sarah’s wedding.

I absolutely loved her wedding theme with the lavender bridesmaids dresses & gorgeous accessories.

Sarah was super stylish in her beautiful Vera Wang gown.

Another fun morning of hair & makeup was had which was totally stress free & relaxing for the girls. Sarah you were the most stunning bride, i’m so glad the rain held off for you too.

Congratulations to you & Craig I hope you had the most wonderful night, it just goes way too quick!

Red Riding Hood Shoot

I had a lot of fun doing this shoot with Henry Sun from Photoresque Photography.

Marissa was very easy to work with, a natural makeup look was achieved and bold red lips were a must.

A Faery’s Song – Summerblossom Handmade Accessories Shoot

I was very excited again to be asked to do the makeup for the latest Summerblossom Handmade Accessory  Shoot with the lovely Rochelle Austin.

A few of the original team were back together, after our fantastic shoot for the Spring/Summer range last year. It was great to catch up & see everyone.

A quick hair & makeup brief first then Sylvia & I created our magic, Rochelle was wanting an “Ever After”  with sprinklings of fairy dust over the models faces.

After this was completed at Summerblossom’s gorgeous new studio, then it was off to Centennial Park with the team to create a fairytale theme to reflect the stunning pins, headbands & flowers Rochelle had created for her new range.

It was an incredible afternoon, the sun was beaming through the trees, the models did well to brave the cold winter air as the afternoon continued on.

A special thanks to everyone involved, once again it was another success!

Amy Lea Taylor Fashion Show

Minx Makeup & Spray Tanning was lucky enough to be involved in the Amy Lea Taylor Fashion Show on the weekend.

The day started at 10.00am for the models with hair & makeup at Ben Scott-Photography Studio 501.

Brooke Hedley opened the show with the song “Lean on Me” which was just amazing, Brooke you have the most beautiful voice, i nearly cried again.

Then it was time for the stunning models to strut their stuff down the catwalk wearing gorgeous pieces from Amy Lea Taylor Collection.

Fashion goers were then welcome to buy her pieces straight off the catwalk after the show.

With only 2 weeks left of her pregnancy Amy looked glowing, congratulations Amy on another fantastic show. It’s very well deserved & look forward to hearing the news of your baby.

Welcome to my new blog!

I wanted to share some exciting news. I was asked to be a part of a 6 page fashion spread in the new & upcoming Sutherland Shire magazine called I-AM Magazine Pty Ltd.

It was a fun morning of makeup shared with my good friend Jade. It was great to meet Sam from I-AM Magazine, Maria from Heartclicks Photography & the girls from Dutchee Dutchee Boutique in Cronulla who were also featured in the fashion shoot.

The new magazine will feature articles & stories from amazing local people.
